Time to cheer up

I still have two cats, so that's good. She doesn't seem to have changed much in the last week (touch wood).

Let's have some pretties, eh?

First up, Striker, who may be found within the pages of Almost Human (Dark's on the cover, but you know, I've had a lot of interest in Striker...)

And here's Reaver, shortly to be appearing in Never Leave Me, from Changeling. Mmm.

(Yes, I spend entirely too much time messing with Poser. Shoot me.)

More stuff.

Candy has a tumour in her stomach. Just like Willow.

Stuff.

Almost Human is out tomorrow! Picture me nervous. But -- got a review in already from Romance Junkies:

ALMOST HUMAN takes readers on an emotional roller coaster ride that just doesn’t end. Dark is much like his name only there is way more to him than what he reveals at first. Chance is an awesome heroine, she’s brave and courageous and that comes shining through in her actions. The love scenes are searing and very intense, and the passion never stops. Cat Marsters has woven a tale of betrayal, desire and action that readers will put on the keeper shelf and come back to read again and again.

4.5 ribbons, which is nice!

Taking little Candy to the vet this evening. She's looking really sad, been throwing everything up for weeks, only this last week that's stopped because she's hardly eaten anything. I don't know why I think of her as a baby (probably because she's still only kitten sized) as she's actually twelve. That's getting old for a cat. Anyway, she's always been very skittish and lively, but recently she's just been... sad. Listless. She's looking a little like Willow did last summer--and Willow died in September. What with Tinker being a matted, senile, wobbly old man of 17 and poor Honey coughing her lungs out five times an hour, I'm tired of old sick pets! I want proper, working ones!(yes, that is a velvet pillow. You can't say I don't love them)

Nana nana nana nana bookshelves!

Whee, I finally have my new shelves up. Would show you all a picture but my camera has run out of batteries and the charger doesn't work any more. No, honest. Anyway, I have something like forty feet of bookshelves filled with fiction and probably ten with non-fiction (yes, I know, but that's what the internet is for). I have cleverly included spaces for the next batch of books I will buy (because when am I ever going to stop buying books? This time next year I'll need even more shelves). Katie MacAlister, Charlaine Harris and MaryJanice Davidson (to whom I was recently compared, picture me thrilled!) all have books out soon (although not soon enough, grr). Shirley Karr has one out in about a week, so yay! (Read What An Earl Wants last year because I thought the title was cool--even though the cover is annoyingly trite-- and I thought the book was even cooler. She's got me interested in regencies again. Well, her and the new P&P movie, which I must also preorder...)

But, more importantly, I've clear all the clutter and have my Spike posters back up. For a moment when the new shelves went up and covered the whole of one wall, I was really worried! But now my special boy has a spotlight shining right on him, above my computer. Ahh, bless.

And just so you can all share in the beauty of Spike, and the wit and inventiveness of Buffy fans, go here and download the Divinyls video. The song is funny enough on its own, the clips are funny enough on their own, and the pop-ups certainly are. But put them all together and hilarity will surely prevail.

Oooh I don't want anybody else, when I think about you I touch myself...

Ahem

Almost Human

Nope, that's not me before coffee (I'm barely human after it), but the title of my first book with Ellora's Cave, which has just been assigned a release date of Feb 1!

Belle jour. I am Chance, Knight of the Order of the Phoenix, Lady of the Association.

I trained as a Phoenix Knight because I'm damn good in a fight. I trained as an AssociƩe because I'm damn good in bed. But all the training in the Realm couldn't prepare me for Dark -- a man so potently sexy I can't keep my underwear on in his presence. It's a shame, then, that Dark seems to have other plans for my body -- for example, killing it.

I really love this book, I so can't wait for it to be out!

(wow, two posts in as many days! I must be sleep-deprived or something)

Possibly the best paranormal series out there...

No, that's not me blowing my own trumpet. That's what Joyfully Reviewed had to say aboit my Sundown, Inc. books! Could have knocked me over with a feather (and I'm really not insubstantial in any way).

And, because I'm now feeling all happy with the world in general, I'm going to give you all a little present. His name is Ceyx, and he's the star of my Valentines release from Changeling, Playing With Matches. Enjoy!

PAN-cake!

I'm PAN, I'm PAN, I'm PAN PAN PAN!!!!!!

Ahem. I mean, my application to join the Published Authors Network of the RWA has been approved! Squibblidee! Now, there's a nice Christmas present!

In other news, I'm still buried in Christmas stuff, but when I emerge I hope to get on with my edits for Almost Human (the PAN-eligible book). I've just turned in the third Sundown story to my editor at Changeling, and there will be edits to do on my Valentines story too. Not to mention actually writing something at some point!

Ahhh, SO looking forward to that pink ribbon at RWA...

Been a quiet blogger

...lately, so sorry 'bout that. Bound to be quieter still in the next week or two. How did it get so close to Christmas? When did I become the person who makes half of Christmas happen (the other half is my mother. I swear, my dad pays for it and my brother just sits around going, "Hey, this is nice!")?

Anyway, in case I don't get back next week: Merry Christmas, goodwill to all men, especially the cute ones, my email is easy to find ;). Go buy my book, there's sexy smut and it's funny too. Have a great holiday. Have fun, do what you like, and be nice to people. That's Christmas for me. Well, that and presents.

Oops!

Good grief, it's been a while since I posted! Well, anyway, time for some shameless self promotion. Elf Gratification was released today! There's also a contest running on my website to win a free copy of the book and a Christmas ornament to match. Go have fun!

(yes, it's a brief post. I have a rotten cold and it's nearly midnight. Sue me)

The Blessed Tostito® Chip

There are no words.

Wouldn't you like to own a piece of fried potato shaped like the Virgin Mary? Go on. You know you would.

We want to see this get on TV. Six days left for some daft network to pick it up. Story of the week! Woman sells potato chip with Madonna's image on it! No, not that Madonna, the other one. Spread the word, people. Spread the good word.
