It's the end of the world!

Or might be, if that large hadron thingy goes into effect. When I explained to my mum this morning that it could, just maybe, create a black hole into which we'd all be sucked, she said, "Yes, but what happens to us after that?" And you know, I have no idea. Any astrophysicists out there?

  1. Wait a minute.... I know the answer to that one. Didn't Disney tell us absolute nothing? No? OK, I just asked my husband (who is not an astrophysicist, but seems to know more about science stuff than I ever will) and he says no one knows. Oooohhhhh, mysterious!! *grin*

  2. Ah! So not knowing is the scientific answer! Wonderful, I'm smarter than I look. Well, I have to be.

  3. Stephen Hawking says it's all okay and nothing bad will happen. I can't help but feel ever so slightly disappointed, since films and cartoons have lead me to believe being sucked into a black hole will be an exciting and life-altering experience.

  4. I asked daughter (who is about to enter her 2nd year of a Physics degree) and she just looked at me and said, "Oh, Mum!"
