Guess who's just been offered a contract?

I know. If the answer's not me, then this is a really pointless post. But the answer is me, so hussah! Those lovely folks at Choc Lit have offered a contract on my The Untied Kingdom, starring of course my beloved Richard Armitage Major Harker. In terms of the yummy stuff, Harker is plain chocolate. Ungarnished, with plenty of bite, and quite bitter, but darkly delicious and very hard to say no to.

So what does this mean? Well, it means that when I've read the contract and satisfied myself that it's not giving anyone the rights to my first-born (er, that'd probably be Spike, but you know what I mean) that The Untied Kingdom will be hitting a bookstore near you. And, with Harker at its heart, when it hits, it'll leave an impact crater.

Commence champagne-glass raising....now!

  9. Brilliant, brilliant news! Congratulations!

I've loved the ChocLit books that I've read so far (Trade Winds by Christina Courtenay and Turning the Tide by Christine Stovell) and both of the heroes in those were wonderful, so I'm looking forward to meeting Major Harker. He sounds delicious!

  13. Lucie, OMG right back at you! Thanks so much for recommending it: without you it might never have made the grade!

I do so adore Harker, he really came alive for me and I found writing about him not just easy but really compelling! I'm so glad other people love him.

Oh, if only I could do that Pygmalion trick with him...
