Well, my nearly-two-months of waiting is over - I finally heard from Temptation. We have read this with interest but regrettably have decided not to pursue the project further. At least they gave me the whys - I've never had a personalised rejection before. Makes me feel all special - for about a second. Ah well, what can you expect? I did only write it in about two weeks. Stupid pitch was all at the wrong time - I needed to polish, people!

See, that's the denial phase. Stay tuned for Phase Two, entitled I suck! I suck!

  1. K8, you do not suck. You have more guts than most people ever will. Polish it and re-title and re-submit there or elsewhere. If you love it, don't give up on it. If the pitch sounded good, just work on the follow-through.

K8, I second Michele. You do NOT suck. You have plenty of contest wins and a request for full under your belt. That's much more than many writers can they about themselves. And personalized R is much better than an R slip.
And believe me, I know how you feel. Just was there. Believe in yourself, keep writing, and I'm sure we'll soon have your books in our hot little hands. Best wishes.

  3. A personal R is an achievement. It means that when you write your next one, the editor wouldn't mind seeing it.
